How to unsend mail after you hit the send button in Gmail?

Having second thoughts after hitting the send button in Gmail? Mail sent to wrong person? Just discovered the major typo error? Realized that the mail is overfilled with emotional outburst and you don’t want this to go to people?…..

These are afterthoughts that triggered the dire need of option to have unsend button.

Gmail addressed this issue. You can time your mail within which the send action can be reversed. Not many people are using this must have feature in Gmail.

Login to your Gmail account and click on the gear icon on the right hand top of the window.


Click on Settings.

From the settings window that opens. Click on Labs.

Scroll down to undo send option and enable it.

Scroll to the page end hit the Save Changes button. This will delay the sending of your mail by 10 seconds default.

How to change the default undo time:

You can increase the delay sending time upto 30 seconds. To do this, again go to Settings and Click the General tab.

Scroll down to undo send option, and select your time (in seconds).

Save the changes by hitting Save Changes button at the end of the page.

Here you go. Now whenever you send the mail, you will see the following option for the time selected by you.

Click Undo to unsend the mail.
